¡Plantas, Plantas, Plantas!
(Disponible en español)
Our educators created a fun poem to help describe the differences between plants and why they’re so important! Educator Lucero recorded herself reciting it in both English and Spanish! You can click here to watch her read “Plants, Plants, Plants!” (“¡Plantas, Plantas, Plantas!”), and click here to download the poem and learn it yourself!
Once you’ve learned about plants, you can also click here to download an activity to learn plant parts and make your own plant! Then, be sure to share your creations with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

Let’s learn colors!
(Disponible en español)
Do you know how to say red in Spanish (rojo)? How about blue (azul)? Explore the colors of nature in Spanish through this great book, available through the Internet Archive. Once you’ve had Story Time, continue learning by going on a color walk or a feel walk with your young scientist. All of these materials are available in English and Spanish!
Teaching Tip: You can take it all a step further by tying in a Puddle Investigation! Click here to access the materials in English and Spanish.

Let’s go on a scavenger hunt!
(Disponible en español)
It’s time for a nature scavenger hunt! Go outside to see which of these objects you can find. You’ll learn nature bilingually at the same time! As you find the objects, practice saying the words aloud in English and Spanish. Click here to download the sheet.
Guiding Question: Which items did you see the most of? How do you say those things in Spanish? Are there nature words that are similar in both English and Spanish? Which word is your favorite? Why?
