Malay Cruiser
You probably don’t know the Malay cruiser (Vindula dejone) by name, but chances are good that you’ve seen it in the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven. Like many other butterfly species, they are sexually dimorphic. This means that the males and females look different. The males (like this one pictured below) have bright orange wings, while the females have gray/brown wings that are accented by a broad white band.

Hopefully the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum in Chicago (near Lincoln Park Zoo) will re-open soon.
