The Nature of Cities: Virtual Field Trip to the Urban Gateway to Nature and Science
February 23 | 8:45 am - 9:45 am
Immerse yourself in The Chicago Academy of Science’s largest permanent exhibition, Nature Trails, a nearly 1/3 mile outdoor trail that takes you through urban prairie, wetland, butterfly garden, and woodland ecosystems. During our virtual hike, learn how the Nature Trails are leveraged by scientists, educators, and community members.
This program is a part of the Nature of Cities virtual festival, featuring five days of virtual events and conversation about the nature of cities. The festival theme “Better cities for nature and all people” explores and celebrates the environmental justice aspects of green city building. How do we achieve cities that are better for nature and all people? Join us to build cities that are more resilient, sustainable, livable, and just for everyone.
