What do all the numbers, labels, and categories on your electric and gas bills really mean? Why have prices been trending up? How can you reduce costs and support energy policies that don't leave folks behind?
All of these questions (and the additional questions you bring) can be answered by the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) which has supported individual and policy level efforts to monitor prices, train folks how to navigate the world of utilities, and spread information about ways to decrease costs while supporting less reliance on fossil fuel energy sources.
In this 60 minute workshop, you will learn more about the utility landscape of Chicago and what kinds of options exist for residents to help manage shifting costs and learn about how policy contributes to shifting consumer costs.
This workshop is a part of the Chicago Conservation Corps (C3) program. Through C3, the Nature Museum provides training, funding, workshops, and volunteer opportunities that remove barriers to sustainability action for individuals and communities. By attending a C3 event, you become a C3 Explorer with access to volunteer days, workshops, and other involvement opportunities.
