Nature Night Out

Enjoy refreshments while exploring the museum’s exhibits after hours, including the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, and meet some special guest birds of prey and some of our resident live animals up close!

Sip a special Nature Museum-themed brew: Golden Chin Pale Ale made by Pig Minds Brewing while you explore your creative side at Nature Night Out!

• Stop by our crafting stations for a relaxed sip-and-dip experience — get into the spooky spirit by dipping your own wax candle under the guidance of our resident chandler (that's old timey for “candle-maker”) while enjoying a drink and good company.
• Whether you come with friends or make new ones, it’s a fun way to unwind and tap into your creativity.
• Our friends at Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab will bring along some special guest birds of prey for guests to see and learn more about.
• Trash Goblins will be joining us get us into our goblin era and make some crafts using recycled materials!
• Guests will also be treated to special Critter Connections at 7:00 and 8:00. These are a chance to meet some of the museum's resident snakes and bugs and learn more about them!

We know this event is only days away from Halloween, so we hope you dress up for this event! Guests who come in costume will be entered into a raffle for a nature museum gift basket! Guests in nature themed costumes get TWO entries!  

As a special bonus, the first 50 guests will receive a branded Nature Night Out pint glass. We hope you'll join us for an engaging evening of nature, creativity, and community.

Every ticket comes with 1 complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage! Additional beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.
