Join us for an intermediate specimen preparation class taught by Nature Museum staff!

You'll receive one-on-one guidance from museum collections professionals while completing the preparation of a life-mounted specimen. In this comprehensive class, you'll learn all the basic techniques of life-mounted specimen preparation and about the importance of specimens in biodiversity research and museum education. Please bring a brown bag lunch or snack for yourself.

All materials will be provided. Participants must be 18 years or older. Specimen preparation requires good eyesight, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and patience. Participants will be working with sharp tools and small instruments. It is recommended that participants in this class have experience crafting or sculpting, or have taken Taxidermy 101 previously. 

Nature Museum staff will review health and safety procedures with participants at the start of the event.

Participants in this class will be able to take home their life-mount. Space is limited. Advanced registration is required.
