Parent & Caregiver Workshops
Is your group interested in learning about and practicing how to best engage and support students’ nature and science learning?
- Time of Year
- All Year
A Parent and Caregiver Workshop builds parents’ comfort and confidence with engaging their children in local, real world learning experiences around nature and science topics. In these workshops, parents will discover how exploring Chicago’s urban nature is an accessible entry point for social and emotional learning and how it provides opportunities for students to develop life-long interests in science and the natural world.
Parents and caregivers will practice strategies to foster foundational interdisciplinary skills like critical thinking, communication, and collaboration as they help their children build science identities by looking more closely at the nature all around them.
